Edhen Clock

This piece was made in 2002 to complement the Gaelic clock which I made six years before. I wanted a similar highly decorated surface but on a lighter, more elegant form. The interlacing Celtic designs follow the bird theme, hence the name Edhen (meaning bird). The two birds either side of the clock-face have been adapted from figures from the Book of Kells and worked into the shape of the clock. The other patterns are from various Celtic and Viking sources or are my own designs.
